The agricultural sector in Ethiopia has experienced substantial growth in recent years, because of success of medium sized companies. The Agricultiral Business Support Facility (ABSF) of the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (AACCSA) is committed to contribute towards further development of the sector and your company. To achieve this goal, ABSF is implementing a business plan development coaching program that will focus on strategy planning, strategic sourcing, market strategy planning and acquiring finance.


Advance Consulting from The Netherlands has developed the coaching program, and will also facilitate implementation. Advance Consulting ( assists companies to develop their business in developing economies. The company successfully developed over 300 projects worldwide since 1999. Advance Consulting has implemented 8 advisory projects and acquired financing for 16 companies in Ethiopia over the last 16 years.


Participants will receive tailor-made advice and training on how to develop or update a business plan. The coaching program is highly interactive, and is divided in two phases:


  • The 4-day workshop will focus on company strategy planning, strategic sourcing, market strategy planning, financial forecasting and financing possibilities. At the end of the workshop, participants have the appropriate tools to (re-)develop strategic business plan for their companies. In preparation for the implementation phase, participants will be asked to draft a full business plan, including financial forecast and financing plan.
  • The implementation phase will be executed 2 months after the second workshop. During the implementation phase, the facilitators will provide personal assistance at premises of participating companies to finalize the business plan.


When, where and costs?                                                                                            

The workshop is scheduled for the period 6 October 2015 – 9 October 2015. The workshop will be hosted in a hotel in Addis Ababa (details will come later). Personal assistance with finalizing the business plan will take place at premises of participating companies within 2 months after the workshop.

The training is free of costs for all participants. However, participants will be asked to pay a commitment fee of ETB 1000,-. The commitment fee will be reimbursed when participants attend each day of the workshop, and won’t be reimbursed when participants fail to attend on a day of the workshop due to avoidable causes.
